MadDoggBlue also known as Tha MadBuddha aka Demetrice Sightler, is an independent artist and producer (BeatSmith) from San Diego, California and currently based in Lawton, Oklahoma. MadDoggBlue is a RADICAL NATIONALIST. He is recognized for his laid-back, melodic hooks, and straightforward lyrics that reflect gritty street philosophy with a unique twist. He is the founder of Electric Dungeon Productions and A857R4K7 K0-R3L@71V35 KoLL3KT1V3. All of his music and companies are under his ownership and control. He’s building his brand and company to be eventually owned and controlled by his daughter.
It is his goal to create dynamic and engaging music that colors the mind and stimulates the listeners intellect. He doesn’t at all self-identify as a “black” person and he publicly speaks against “black identity politics”. Much of what I do as an artist is an extension of my work and philosophy as a leader and an occultist. There are a great many phonies, copycats, and charlatans following my lead in attempts to benefit themselves. Secretly I’m very sure they’re some of my biggest fans as everything they do serves as a method of mimicry and emulation. Many of them learn from me about as much as I’ll allow, however they try to twist it and cloak their obsessions in a quite obvious and seething form of adulation. I’ve been openly and quietly honored and recognized by dignitaries and populations around the globe and am quite appreciative of most of the displays and signs of affection I receive as a MASTER OF CEREMONIES and OCCULTISM. I’ve received these displays and communications in public and online both. My life is indeed charmed.
Some of the people that follow me do so trying their best to align themselves with my “movement” and esoteric school of thought. Most of those people I’ve accepted as my own although they have not received any ritual initiation or official membership into my “spiritual house” or “spiritual lineage”. Some are devout followers and loyalists. Some recognize that there’s something far greater happening with me and are both enthralled and petrified by my talents, searching for explanations of how and why I do what I do. However, in reality much of what I do and am responsible for in several dimensions is indeed what many refer to as “paranormal” and the “unexplained”. They try to study me in hopes of figuring out how and why I AM what I AM, as well as how I DO what I DO. Many are perplexed by my abilities and skills.. and some understand completely and accept the facts as they stand and have been proven to be absolute. At this point in my own personal GROWTH and DEVELOPMENT.. I have nothing to prove.
Some of what I say and do is not very warm or welcoming.. there is a good reason for that. Many of the persons obsessed with me are not at all the kinds of people I’d ever allow near to me, my essence, or intellect. They are unworthy of my time, energy, and respect. This may seem like arrogance on my part and maybe sometimes it is that. I’m very aware of the kind of personas and energies I do not fit with and am not in any way interested in compromising myself by embracing their sub-humanoid nature. I tell them what they are and continue forward. Still, many of them follow. That’s the cost of power and authority. You don’t always get to decide who and what is obsessed with you. What you can do is know how to battle and even destroy those that would attempt to force themselves into your view or try to “tap in”n to your essence. Unfortunately that’s a constant in this realm that is difficult to control.
To me the words NGGA, NIGGUH, and NGGER are the absolutely the same and have the exact same phonetic and spiritual values. They carry the same energy, impression and impact. I have shown many of my followers on social media the way SPELLING, SPELL CASTING, and EVOCATION work in tandem. I’ve shown people very real spirits in nature and in possessive states that include trance, the subconscious, and waking minds. I’ve proven that much of what some people knew was real IS ABSOLUTELY NOT SIMPLE FANTASY. IT’S PHANTASTIC and PHANTASMAGORIA!
In no way am I emulating those that follow me and would like their “groups” to believe that it is I that somehow emulate or learn anything from them. I’ll never accept characters like WALTER REED (Killah Priest), Frank (Saneter aka Sanutsack), Lateef (suberber beggar schmoe aka Sabir Bey), Tavis Smiley, and a few others that incessantly try to “ride my bumper” because that isn’t how I operate. I don’t personally vibe with or appreciate any of those characters. My organization is not open to those subpar intellects and spiritual degenerates. They can be obsessed fans all they like, however, they won’t ever be welcomed into my temple, school, or organization in any meaningful capacity. Ever.
I have several business ventures and collective goals that I’m personally working on to enrich and empower those selected to join my spiritual corporation. All of the artwork, designs, music, and writing I present is multifaceted and embedded with precious jewels as well as alchemical silver and gold. All of the music on this website was 100% composed, compiled, programmed, and/or produced by me.
I call my instrumental productions ESOTERIC SOUNDSCAPES and work to revise and remaster my music as many times as needed to ensures a quality of production and sound that speaks for itself. I like to make music that doesn’t need any lyrics to be enjoyed. However, with the right lyricist these instrumentals become spellbinding settings for masterful lyrical and poetic precision. Every instrumental I make is designed with the artist in mind. That artist is always myself. If I can’t hear myself imprinted in and on these soundtracks I won’t present them. They are my style. My designs. They are composed to sound nothing like anything anyone else is making in music in this modern era of Hip-Hop designing and programming. What is ELECTRIC DUNGEON PRODUCTIONS?
Electric Dungeon Productions (E.D.P.) is a professional multimedia production company with a focus on original underground Hip-Hop music, creative writing, and artistic design (art deco). E.D.P. is owned and operated by Demetrice Sightler, also known as MadDoggBlue who has been writing and recording original Hip-Hop, Gangsta Rap, and Horrorcore music since the late 90’s. He started as a freestyle and battle rapper in the 90’s as he took on the best local talent in the surrounding areas while attending school in La Mesa, California. Quickly he began to make a name for himself as an influential, skilled, and surgical lyricist using the underground battle scene to establish a reputation for showcasing his fluid ability to draft entire studio ready songs in one rapid cycle over and over again. He never wrote anything yet his lyrics always sounded polished and correct, so much that most could not believe that he was not “spitting written” raps.
In 1999 he teamed up with an artist who was a KRS clone from Ogden, Utah who went by the stage name KRISTAGONG. Christopher Martinez (Kristagong) was a rapper that moved to El Cajon, California with his friends and roommates Ralph and Tyler who had a Christian rap group called THE CHOSEN. MadDogg had some gang friends in El Cajon, California that heard these three rappers from Utah boasting about their skill as rappers as many aspiring Hip-Hop artists do. Those friends told Ralph, Tyler, and Christopher that they were OK.. but they absolutely could not fade “Blue”, which was MadDoggBlue’s street handle at that time. The three Utah rappers bet that they could hang with anyone and would outclass whomever was brought to them. MadDogg’s gang buddies laughed at the trio and told them they’d set it up and started taking bets. The cypher would be Kristagong and The Chosen (Ralph and Tyler) VS. Blue. In a display that was a lyrical and technical massacre, Blue dismantled all three of the Hip-Hop rappers from Utah. At first all three refused to accept that they had been demolished.. they even stated that the cypher was unfair because the crowd was biased. They didn’t seem to understand that BLUE had first taken all of them down one by one, but then he destroyed them all together in a “jump cypher” where Ralph and Tyler continuously tried to cut Blue off in an attempt to appear more aggressive and dominant in the battle. Neither could handle Blue and they attempted to trade bars back and forth against Blue. None of it mattered. At the end of the day cypher there was a crowd listening in the apartments on Orlando Ave. in El Cajon, California and there were people there that weren’t with Blue, nor were they gang members.. all aside from Christopher, Ralph, and Tyler agreed.. those boys from Utah had been lyrically stripped naked and them molested by a 17 year old kid who was already a very well known, highly regarded, and well respected CYPHER EMCEE in the San Diego 90’s underground Hip-Hop world. He was still a teenager and had no studio recordings, but he was already being mentioned in circles by Hip-Hop crews MOTU (Masters of the Universe), ORKO ELOHIM, all over South East San Diego with upcoming artists including BIG JUNE, and had his first talent show experience in the 6th grade with GANGSTA ERN’s son BABY GANGSTA ERN. After destroying the Utah rappers, Christopher Martinez mentioned that he was recording an LP VINYL album with an obscure local production outfit that was doing big things in PROGRESSIVE TRANCE, E.D.M., and IMPORT CAR SHOW scenes. He was recording for a producer called DJ SLIM aka DJ GENERAL JAY at a private studio in El Cajon, California that went by the name EMPIRE RECORDINGS. It was there that he took on the name THA MADDOG, as a point of reflection of his style and reputation for “EATING” his opponents in battle raps and CYPHER CIRCLES.
THE EMPIRE RECORDINGS ERA
Eventually Christopher Martinez (KRISTAGONG) and Blue became something like friends. Christopher was renting an apartment in El Cajon, California and Ralph and Tyler (The Chosen) were recording separate projects at a studio in the city of El Cajon run by a Vietnamese House DJ and Producer who was venturing into Hip-Hop production named DJ SLIM. He was in a DJ CREW that was well known in the Asian Underworld (Underground) where college kids, gangs, and drugs intersected. REWIND… Blue had lived in East San Diego (now City Heights) as a youth as well as in Mira Mesa, California where there were strong Asian immigrant populations. He’d seen first hand how Hip-Hop was a major influence in the lives and culture of Asian youth and how Asian trad (traditional) gangs fused and battled with Asian Crip and Blood Gangs. He had made many Vietnamese, Laotian, Cambodian, Filipino, and Hmong friends during his time locked up in Juvenile Hall at 2800 Meadowlark Drive and in Rancho Del Campo Rayo II. Because he’d gone to school at Edison Elementary in East Daygo and Walker Elementary and Wangenheim Junior High in Mira Mesa he’d had experience dealing with Asians from all over the world, mostly South East Asians in E.S.D. and Filipinos and Polynesians in Mira Mesa. He learned their gangs, their beefs, their cultural similarities and differences and adapted to being away from Southeast San Diego and Georgetown and Andrews South Carolina which were the other two areas in which he had lived and gone to school. In his experiences with Asian gangs, he committed his first street crimes. He saw how tight knit their communities were.. and in a way that was very unusual he was accepted by families that did not like or deal with any “blacks” at all. They saw that his grandmother was Hispanic and she was in a lesbian relationship with a Filipino woman who worked and invested in parking businesses in La Jolla, California. He never experienced any kind of discrimination from any Asians he encountered for very long. Eventually they always embraced him and welcomed him in their homes.. which again, was a very rare occurrence at that time.
FAST FORWARD… Christopher Martinez was in his empty apartment on his living room floor with a laundry bag with notebooks and loose papers. Blue was visiting his friends who were all part of a loose clique of gang members and runaways called N.O.B. (Niggaz Over Bitches). N.O.B. started as a kind of a “BROS BEFORE HOS” kickback crew and eventually under the influence of a few members who had family backgrounds in CRIP GANGS and areas with heavy CRIP CULTURE the N.O.B. “family” started leaning towards an official Crip designation recognized by larger cliques, gangs, and organizations. REWIND… Blue was raised mostly around BLOODS from LINCOLN PARK. Specifically around his stepfather MEATHEAD and his family members which included members from several blood gangs like the basement (SOUTHSIDE 59 BRIMS/O’FARREL PARK/EMERALD HILLS) and a few members of SKYLINE PARK PIRU. During that time Blue lived in National City and went to El Toyon Elementary as well as living in East San Diego where Meat Head sold crack cocaine and methamphetamine. However, before his mother met MEATHEAD at 45 PARK in Lincoln Park she was with Blue’s father MARK GORDON aka MAD MARK. Mad Mark was a car thief and burglar from WEST COAST CRIPS ROLLIN 30’s and his brother FRANKIE was from the 20’s. Mad Mark’s mother lived on 45th and Logan in an area called THE DIP which was across the street from 45 PARK.. Mad Mark ran with the MAD DRIVERS.. a car thief clique whose membership was predominantly NEIGHBORHOOD 47 CRIPS. They’d steal cars and take SDPD officers on chases.. for fun. Mark at that time in his “CRIPPIN CAREER” was a very violent and well known gangster who stayed in and out of California prisons. Many did not believe that he could be there in the heart of Lincoln Park and survive when NEIGHBORHOOD, WEST COAST, LINCOLN PARK and THE BASEMENT intersected near that area and people were being killed ON SIGHT in that area, especially anywhere near or around THE DIP. However, MAD MARK his mother, brothers and sisters lived right there and so did Blue when he was a small child before his mother met MEATHEAD while his father was in R.J. DONOVAN prison. Meat Head was a drug dealer.. Mark was in prison.. Both were in rival gangs but knew of one another. It’s easy to understand what happened next.
FAST FORWARD… Blue went to Christopher’s apartment to smoke a blunt he had with Chris. When he got there he saw Christopher writing and Chris explained that he was stuck. He needed a hook for a song was working on and was going to record. He’d told Blue before that he was going to bring him to the studio to meet DJ SLIM, but that had not happened yet. Blue offered to look over what Chris has and to help him come up with a hook. The hook Christopher (Kristagong) had was trash.. and the song he was writing was all over the place. He was writing a kind of Hip-Hop that was unique to Utah. It was not very lyrical nor was there good rhythm or cadence.. much of what was being said didn’t rhyme. It was kind of “bar record” music as Christopher’s main audience was in PUBS, at BEER FESTIVALS, and clubs that were not urban in the main sense of that word because Utah was, well Utah. He was doing a kind of reggae/ska/punk rock kind of thing and Blue was a hardcore California gangsta rapper with a heavily San Diego and East Coast Hip-Hop influenced lyrical style. In theory these two styles do not and should not fit.. however, Blue quickly came up with the hook Kristagong was missing and then wrote a verse to the song that instantly changed into Blue’s project as he now had written a verse and the hook and as such the majority of the song aside from Kristagong’s verse. That song was titled by Blue and was called FELONY CASE. That song caused for Kristagong to change his style and his name under direction by Blue. He told Christopher, “KRISTAGONG sounds like some weirdo shit..” “I get that you’re on some Bob Marley stuff with the gong reference, but that spelling is corny.” “If you’re gonna keep that name, it should be KRISDAGONG” “DA-GONG, nigga!” “Not TA-GONG”.. Christopher was a knock off KRS-ONE wannabe at that time.. he copied that entire style and even the reggae influences KRS used.. and Blue never liked KRS-ONE’s music. Still, Christopher Martinez was excited about the finished version of “Felony Case” and went to DJ SLIM to set up the recording session. He didn’t let DJ SLIM know that Blue wrote the majority of the song he was so excited about, especially since they understood the publishing process. However, being an underground project that wasn’t so very important at the time. This was Blue’s introduction to a real recording studio and a producer with actual publishing credits in the recording industry. He was brought to DJ SLIM’S recording studio on LINCOLN AVE. and with DJ SLIM’S SILLY ENTERTAINMENT CREW present he recorded FELONY CASE over a beat produced by DJ SLIM. Blue was the featured artist on that record but it felt the other way around in the studio. That session, Blue recorded an interlude for KRISTAGONG’s LP as well called “COCA-YOLA”.. also that evening DJ SLIM committed to working on an EP album for Blue.. however, he needed a stage name. ENTER THA MADDOGG.
Blue picked the stage name THA MADDOG for his recordings at DJ SLIM’s studio in EL CAJON, CALIFORNIA. He was advised that he’d need a publishing handle for any songwriters guild applications and he already figured that his street handle BLUE, his family name MEATY, and his previous rap name XIA THA SAVAGE weren’t the proper fit. So he began writing to the beats provided to him by DJ SLIM. His first song was called “SKILLZ”. He recorded that track with DJ SLIM at EMPIRE RECORDINGS and then moved on to his next songs.. “SILLY”.. was an homage to the DJ CREW and SILLY ENTERTAINMENT. Next was a horror core track called “Insanity Plea”.. this was a lyrical solo follow-up to Felony Case which was not on Kristagong’s album for a few reasons, which will be explained later. In short, Krisdagong decided to leak his own album in Utah, selling self pressed copies of his listening version provided by DJ SLIM. He was not supposed to release that album as it was going to be an official release by DJ SLIM and EMPIRE RECORDINGS and he was looking for investors and intended to shop for distributers. Once that album was leaked, it was no longer exclusive and DJ SLIM felt betrayed. DJ Slim however, was not innocent either. And so, their project was doomed before it started, tainted by bad faith and shady moves by both parties. “Insanity Plea” was recorded and after that recording something changed. The beats DJ Slim was giving Blue for THA MADDOG EP started becoming weak.. in no way fitting his lyrical style. Also Blue missed shows he had scheduled for an IMPORT CAR SHOW in Del Mar opening for ICE-T and IMX formerly known as IMMATURE because he caught a possession of sales and a distribution charge. During this time DJ SLIM was involved in bad business and went after Blue’s girlfriend while he was locked up. Blue found out the details of the situation but kept it to himself. That’s when he began working on his mixtape series that brought him serious attention from big name West Coast rappers. Those mixtapes were GOOD GAME VOL. I & II, followed by the MONEYGANGMAFIA mixtapes. On those tapes and CD’s “Tha MadDog” combined his stage name with Empire Recordings and his street name leaving the Empire Recordings EP behind.. He knew after what took place with DJ SLIM while he was in jail that he was not going to finish that project with DJ SLIM. DJ SLIM didn’t offer any help with an attorney or with bail money and openly attempted to establish a relationship with Blue’s girlfriend while he was incarcerated. He took on the name he uses now.. and established connections with well known rappers in San Diego like GOOGIE MONSTA, several Mexican rappers including TORO from OTNC, and hosted CYPHERS in the downtown county jail that even the Sheriff’s admired. He used those cyphers to quash several issues in the jail and was a high-ranking tank captain and shotcaller in several units before going to DESCANSO to serve his sentence. His name as an artist would begin to ring bells all over California due to the cyphers and battles in the county jail in San Diego. That name is MadDoggBlue.
